Hosted by BEAST Alumni Liaisons: Kristine Tan & Inez Raharjo
Unsure about your career after PhD?
Have questions for a professional in your field of interest?
Need motivation to build your network?
Fear not!
We are offering you a chance to have a free meal/coffee with a professional contact of your choosing!
They can be an alumni or anyone who is currently working in your field of interest. Either work with us or set up the meeting yourself, you are free to choose anyone in relevant areas to network with, and we can cover your meal cost! — This is an extension from our “Meet over Meal” series, based on your feedback 🙂

Know exactly who you want to talk to, or want a more private chat with a professional?
Choose the 1-on-1 meeting!
You get up to $50 total for you and your chosen invited professional for lunch/dinner/coffee (no alcohol). You will contact the professional and set up the meeting yourself.
Not comfortable networking alone, or know some friends who would be interested to network with the same person?
Choose the Group Meeting!
You will work with us to set up the lunch/dinner/coffee with your chosen invited professional. We will help announce the event to BEAST and allow 3-4 other students to join as well. We will provide funding for the meal ($25/person, not covering alcohol).
Interested in talking with someone with a certain career, but unsure who to invite?
Fill out the form, explaining what you are interested in learning and what type of person you would like to speak with (e.g., type of career, number of years experience, etc.). We will then work with you to identify a suitable BioE alum or other professional.
We will accept applications on a rolling basis, but there is a limited amount of funding available! If your application is accepted, you will be in charge of reaching out and setting up the meeting location/time (we can certainly help you out with this if you’d like). After the meeting, you will have to send us a summary or notes on what you gained from your meeting.
As always, we welcome questions or feedback on this new initiative – feel free to contact us!
